Karthik sent me a sms this morning mentioning that someone had jumped onto the tracks at Yishun MRT station. My first thought was that the trains were going to be delayed and I was going to be late for work. Call me inhumane but hey, if you want to take your life do not do it at everyone else's inconvenience.
Karthik probably thought that I did not have any feelings of sympathy as I kept asking him if trains were going to be delayed for long etc. lol. The thing is I do feel sad. I feel sad for the person who thinks that life is meaningless, who apparently did not receive the necessary help and who did not seem to find any other alternatives to the problems faced. I feel sad for the family members who might be dependent on that person.
Karthik suggested that SMRT Corp ought to put barricades or glass panels like those we see in the underground stations. Putting barricades is a good idea I guess but if most of the cases are suicides ones then there's nothing much we can do is there? If you want to die you will find the means to do it. Especially if the individual have decided that the life is not worth living. If they are accidents I guess we can only say that it's personal responsibility or fate.
On a more personal note, I would like to proudly announce that Sri Sastha Pillaigal have released their second album. The launching ceremony was GREAT! I had so much fun preparing for it as much as going through it with all my chellams. As usual the guys impressed me with their ability to be so responsible when necessary. Without any questions asked they were all neatly lined up behind the buffet line when food was about to be served.
The special programme with the Villu Paatu went wonderfully well. There were touching moments here and there with us feeling so proud of ourselves. The sales went well considering it was the first day. We also had our own 'press conference'. Everyone said something that was endearing to the group and it just showed how much closer we get everyday. There were some hiccups during the event but we managed to overcome them and we learnt what details to pay attention to in future. Overall it was a fantastic experience. Here's to more successful projects of Sri Sastha Pillaigal and Sri Sastha Association.
Cheers!
