S E X

You will see why I titled my post so as you read on.

I actually wanted to change my layout before I blogged but I'm a teeny bit lazy to do that now. So I rather update my boring blog.

Today evening was wonderful with my cousins! All dressed fine and keeping the family tradition going. I LOVE my family! I had so much fun. And hema, it was a wonderful surprise. The sisters came in pink! I loved your clothes gals!

I really wanted to blog about my day at the tuition center yesterday. My kids are always coming up with weird stuff. The other day I had my P6 kid ask me if I knew what a LIGER was. Call me ignorant but I seriously did not know what that was! Shame on me!

Anyway I tell him no and he goes on to tell me this, "It's when a tiger does that thing with a lion, teacher". I am more amused by the fact that he uses the word 'that thing' for sexual intercourse then the fact that such a cross-breed has occurred. Lol

So Saturday was weird. I went for my classes thinking that it was going to be a peaceful day whereby I wouldn't have to raise my voice level since it was test week. However, my kids always prove me wrong. Test or no test they are still a noisy bunch. :) Noisy or not they bring smiles to my face. I definitely look forward to my Saturdays and of course tuition with Elaine.

So my first class is with the P3s. I adore them! So there I am giving out the test papers and asking them to look through, when one kid looks at me with a question. Then the shock unfolds gradually:

Kid A(male): "Teacher, what is sex?"

ME: *Thinking WTH??!!* "Well, it is to define if you are a male or a female."

All this while I have a big smile on my face thinking that I handled the situation well.

Kid A: "No teacher. There is another kind of sex. S E X."

At that moment I was speechless. I really had no idea what to say. So I decided to change the topic but too late.

Kid B (female): "Teacher, it is when a girl and a boy go into a room and sleep on a bed together. EEEEEEwwww teacher, that is so disgusting!"

ME: *Thinking* Ya you say disgusting now. Hah!

I know that I should have stopped them but you see when children start talking they never stop till they are done.

ME: "Okay class start on your test now please and remember no talking."

Kid B: (apparently gives no care to my instructions) Teacher, then they molest each other. Right? Teacher, they molest each other right? Disgusting!"

Kid A: "Ya they will be naked."

ME: *having heard enough* "Alright class start now! You have got one hour."

Kid C: (not wanting to be outdone by the other two) "Teacher, in the dictionary the meaning of F*** is S E X."

ME: "Do your paper. Now."

God what are these children exposed to?!? I can replay the whole scene in my mind. It had created such an impact on me. It's scary but it is also amusing to see their perceptions of things in life.

Parents really ought to control what the kids see and read on the Internet and the television. Of course, we cannot control what they converse with their friends in school though. Eeesh! Talk about educating your children!

Veering from that, I finally took the plunge and straightened my hair. I went to Belong hair salon at Yishun and the service was wonderful. My stylist was Joey and she is great! I am probably heading back there to get my highlights done. It helps that they have 30% off on their services on weekdays. Also they are under Kimage so the stylists are recommended.

Anyway my hair is so light now. I love it. I loved my wavy hair too but it was a hassle to keep it long even at shoulder length and it didn't look great when short. I hate to bother with my hair. I like fuss-free hair. I always had second thoughts about straightening but after much much contemplation I did it and am happy with it. Joey also helped me get over my doubts about the whole process. :) I think I have finally found a stylist that I want to stick with for a longer time than usual.

It has been a wonderful week and I hope the next one will be as well.

before i go...
